A municipal councilor from Romans-sur-Isère (Drôme) is suspected of having usurped the identity of one of his colleagues to register on a dating application, reports

It was the victim himself who discovered the deception in November 2022. The municipal councilor allegedly used his first name, surname and profession to create a fake profile on Grindr, an application dedicated to dating the gay community .

A profile quickly deleted

The usurped elected official, who is part of the local majority, did not file a complaint.

However, a handrail has been filed.

The municipal councilor in question apologized to his victim as well as to other members of the majority of the municipality.

The fraudulent profile has since been removed from the dating app.

The municipal councilor whose identity has been usurped did not wish to react to the case, nor did the mayor of Romans-sur-Isère, Marie-Hélène Thoraval, contacted by
