Biological tests have confirmed that the human remains found on January 11 in the Toledo Ecopark correspond to Ángel, the under-11-year-old who disappeared a month ago with his cousin in the Madrid neighborhood of Carabanchel, according to police sources.
The National Police found human remains on January 11, specifically a small foot,
in the Ecopark in the Toledo capital, where a search operation for Ángel had been organized since December 27.
After the discovery, the agents transferred said remains to the Forensic Anatomical Institute of Toledo to compare them with DNA tests, tests that would have produced this result.
The first police hypothesis was that the children died accidentally and that they voluntarily went to Toledo to see an old girlfriend of the older of the two cousins.
The autopsy
performed on the body of the 17-year-old boy concluded that he died of suffocation
and suggested the possibility that they had fallen asleep in a container in Toledo the night after he disappeared.
The relatives of Fernando and Ángel believe that they were ambushed and killed when they went to Toledo to see an old girlfriend of the older of the two cousins.
At the Toledo landfill, the search for more remains of Ángel's body continues.
In that same place the body of his cousin Fernando, 17 years old, was found on December 15.
Canine handlers, the Scientific Police, the Judicial Police, the Technical Interventions Operational Group (GOIT) of the National Police and two backhoes are working in the landfill area that was delimited from the outset.
The work started on December 27 and the National Police already predicted the difficulty of the search,
which covered the tracking of some 9,000 or 10,000 tons, in an area delimited since the 15th, where the body of Fernando, the cousin, appeared. next to the one who disappeared.
The work is focused on the Toledo Ecopark, because the main hypothesis is that Fernando and Ángel were together in the capital of La Mancha, to which they had moved and as confirmed by several security cameras.
There are several lines of research, none of which has been 100% ruled out.
