A gendarme specializing in the fight against prostitution was given a two-year suspended prison sentence and a fine of 4,000 euros on January 9 in Pontoise (Val-d'Oise).

After paying for the services of a prostitute, the defendant took her in, offering to welcome her clients to his home.
The young woman then invited several other prostitutes to do the same and a network was gradually created.
Up to 11,000 euros per month
Faced with the multiplication of comings and goings in the building, the inhabitants warned the police.
The gendarme and the young woman moved to a neighboring town but the gendarmerie was again alerted, reports La Gazette du Val-d'Oise.
Between January and May 2020, the gendarme would have received from 4,000 to 11,000 euros monthly from these activities.
In addition to the prison sentence and the fine, the Pontoise Criminal Court sentenced the defendant to a ban on working in the public service.
