Suspects in the child murder at Porsön

Sunday, January 8:

An 8-year-old boy is found dead in an apartment on Porsön in Luleå.

The boy's father was arrested and is currently in custody on probable cause, the stronger level of suspicion, on suspicion of murder.

SVT has told that the mother fought for sole custody for seven years.

Two weeks after the Luleå District Court decided that the father has the right to access, the boy was found dead.

The clip below summarizes the woman's struggle with the authorities.

Woman found dead in Luleå

Sunday 15 January:

On Sunday morning, a woman in her 40s was found dead in an apartment in Luleå.

The circumstances surrounding the death are unclear and the police are arresting a man in his 30s.

The man was later arrested and on Monday the criminal classification became clear.

- He is probably suspected of murder, but we are still early in the investigation, said prosecutor Kristin Andersson on Monday morning.

The arrested man and the deceased woman knew each other from before.

Isolated events

Per Anders Heikkilä is head of serious crimes in Norrbotten and he is clear that it is about three separate investigations.

- These are isolated events but with the common factor that they are all tragic.

A child should of course never have to appear in investigations like this, he says.

Three murder investigations in Luleå, within the space of a month, are not the norm according to Heikkilä.

- Without having any statistics in mind, it is clear that it stands out.

But I think that the timing is due to coincidence, he says.
