As every year, the "New York Times" has published its list of 52 places to visit in 2023. While in 2022, only Normandy had the honors of this ranking on the French side, the 2023 vintage highlights three tricolor destinations .
No country in the world does better, apart from the United States.
While
Rolling Stone
magazine's top 200 best singers of all time had largely shunned French artists, the ranking of the 52 destinations to visit in 2023 puts more of France in the spotlight.
Published each year by the
New York Times
, this time it cites three French destinations while only Normandy appeared in the 2022 edition.
In 16th position, the American daily evokes Martinique, praising in particular the title of UNESCO biosphere reserve, obtained in the fall of 2021 and which recognizes in this overseas territory its commitment to economic development and sustainable social.
A little further, in 24th place, we find the city of Nîmes, which the
New York Times
describes as "a sunny city in the south of France with great charm, fascinating architecture and museums that has not yet been invaded by tourists like Arles or Avignon".

Finally, at 34th row, we find the "Burgundy Beer Route" in order to "pay homage to hops and yeast in a region where wine has long reigned".
According to the daily, beer lovers are now watching this region of France with attention thanks to the advent of new breweries.

With these three destinations, France is therefore the most represented country in this ranking behind the United States.
On the podium, we find London in the lead, followed by the Japanese city of Morioka and the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park between Arizona and Utah.
Famous for its Northern Lights, observable from late September to early April, the city of Tromsø in Norway also made the top 10.
In the past, France has regularly had the honors of the
New York Times
which invited its readers to visit Lyon and Marseille in 2019 but also Belle-Île-en-Mer and Paris in 2020.
