The head of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, announced that they are ready to make a partial concession in the issue of the Israeli prisoners held by the Palestinian resistance in exchange for the release of the elderly and sick prisoners by the Israeli occupation as a humanitarian initiative in light of the Corona crisis.

Sinwar said in an interview with Al-Aqsa TV yesterday that the negotiations over the prisoner deal had stopped since the beginning of the political crisis inside Israel.

He added that they had delivered a message to all the mediators that it is not possible to start negotiations for a new deal before the release of the prisoners of the Shalit deal who were re-arrested.

On the other hand, Sinwar said that they are ready to force the Israeli occupation to enter aid into the Strip in the event that the number of people infected with the Coronavirus in the Strip increases and they need respirators or food.

He added, in response to statements made earlier by Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Bennett, "If we find that the Corona patients in the Gaza Strip are unable to breathe, we will cut off the breath of six million Zionists, and we will take what we want from you."

Bennett had linked the provision of any assistance to support the efforts of the Gaza Strip in combating the Corona virus, to the extent of progress made by Israel in its attempt to recover the Israeli prisoners of the Palestinian resistance.
