Hebrew media reported today, Monday, that a settler house was damaged as a result of shooting at the "Shaked" settlement near Jenin, while the occupation forces killed a child and arrested dozens of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, and demolished dozens of Palestinian commercial establishments in northeastern Jerusalem.

The security of the Shaked settlement, located in the northern West Bank, said that Palestinian gunmen fired machine guns at settler homes tonight, without causing any injuries.

The Israeli occupation forces launched a combing operation to determine the source of the shooting that targeted the settlement.

The settlement, located to the north of the town of Ya`bad, Jenin District, has been subjected to light machine gun fire more than once in recent months, which has damaged several homes and facilities.

For his part, the head of the Settlements Council in the northern West Bank, Yossi Dagan, called on the Israeli government to respond strictly to the shooting, to liquidate what he called "terrorist cells" in the area, and to restore roadblocks there.

Demolition of facilities in Jerusalem

In occupied Jerusalem, the Israeli occupation forces demolished about 30 different commercial establishments in the town of Hizma, northeast of the occupied city.

Bulldozers belonging to the occupation municipality stormed the town at midnight, and proceeded to demolish the facilities located on the main street near one of the occupation military checkpoints.

The mayor of Hizma said that there were no demolition notices, and that the area is classified as Area C in the West Bank, but the Jerusalem occupation municipality is seeking to include the area under its influence.

During the past year, the occupation authorities carried out more than 300 demolitions and bulldozing of Palestinian homes, businesses, and properties.

Demolition orders threaten about 22,390 homes in occupied Jerusalem, which means that about 124,000 Jerusalemites are threatened with forced displacement.

On February 7, 2022, the occupation municipality in Jerusalem issued orders to demolish dozens of commercial establishments in the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood, as a prelude to the implementation of the "Silicon Valley" project on the ruins of these shops that have existed for decades.

Child death

Earlier today, Monday, a Palestinian child was killed and others were injured during two new incursions carried out by the Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the death of the 14-year-old Omar Khumour, who succumbed to a serious wound this morning in Dheisheh refugee camp, south of Bethlehem.

The ministry said that Omar was hit in the head with live bullets as the occupation forces stormed the camp.

Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that a Palestinian was seriously injured in Dheisheh camp, as a result of the Israeli occupation soldiers shooting at Palestinians who protested against their storming of the camp.

Eyewitnesses reported that a military force from the occupation army stormed the camp, which led to clashes.

In a simultaneous development, the Al-Jazeera correspondent reported that a Palestinian was seriously injured, and others were subjected to suffocation, in addition to the arrest of 3 in the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin, in the northern West Bank.

The reporter said that dozens of military vehicles entered Qabatiya and surrounded a number of houses before storming them and tampering with their contents.

He added that clashes broke out in the town between Palestinians and the occupation forces, who fired gas bombs, rubber bullets and live ammunition at them before withdrawing.

Recently, the Israeli army focused its operations in the Jenin area, targeting Palestinian resistance fighters, which led to the martyrdom of a number of them.

During the past two weeks, 13 Palestinians were shot dead by the occupation forces, and there is fear of a greater Israeli escalation under the government of Benjamin Netanyahu, which is described as the most right-wing.

condemnation of factions

In turn, Palestinian factions accused Israel today, Monday, of committing a new crime against humanity by killing children in the occupied West Bank.

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) condemned what it described as the international silence on the ongoing occupation crimes against Palestinian children.

Hamas saw that this human crime is added to the series of escalating Zionist crimes under the settler government.

In her statement, she stressed that comprehensive resistance is the choice of our people to confront these crimes, and the blood of the young martyr will not be wasted.

In turn, the Islamic Jihad movement said that the escalation of murders against our civilian people under the cover of the occupation government and the daily fall of martyrs will not break our will.

The movement threatened Israel, saying, "Our Mujahideen will avenge this innocent blood and will continue their battle until freedom."

For its part, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine considered that "the murder of the cub in Dheisheh is one of the episodes of criminal and continuous Zionist terrorism against our Palestinian people throughout the country."

The Popular Front stressed the need for field unity in confronting the occupation's plans and terrorist tendencies, which are increasingly brutal under the fascist Zionist government, as well as adopting comprehensive resistance as a way to confront aggression.

In the context, the Palestinian Liberal Movement denounced the silence of the international community regarding the crimes of the occupation and its execution of the Palestinian people, considering it a disgrace and a dangerous encouragement for its persistence in criminality.

The movement demanded the escalation of resistance in all its forms in order to curb the aggression of the occupation and thwart its fascist plans, according to it.
