On the way to the giant thermal baths in Bad Vilbel that have been planned for years, the operator Wund is taking the next step.

According to its own statements, the southern German group of companies has submitted the building applications for the project, which was last planned at 200 million euros.

"The project will be Germany's largest wellness resort," emphasizes the Wund Group and also promises art and culture, food and nutrition experiences for all age groups.

The thermal bath will also include an indoor pool.

In the recent past, the operator has also and especially dealt with its energy concept in view of the gas price crisis.

"The submitted plans also provide for the possibility of using geothermal energy as a sustainable energy source in addition to photovoltaics and other renewable energy sources," the company said.

Thanks to the recycling technology, the water consumption per guest is already extremely low.

"The submitted plans now include reverse osmosis systems that will reduce consumption even further," it said in a statement.

However, Wund does not name any figures.

Wund does not give any information about the time of the symbolic groundbreaking and thus the start of construction.

The Mayor of Bad Vilbel, Sebastian Wysocki, expects this to happen at the end of this year or the beginning of 2024, as he said in an interview with the FAZ.

“It is good for everyone involved that the building applications have now been submitted and that this project is making progress.

We are happy about the long-term plans and about the fact that the building of the municipal pool will also be realized with the construction of the thermal baths, which will give Bad Vilbel an indoor pool again.”
