“A sentence has been passed in a criminal case on financing and other material support for activities to train citizens to participate in an armed formation on the territory of a foreign state and on desecration of buildings and other structures,” RIA Novosti quotes a statement from the Supreme Court of the republic.

It is clarified that the accused posted publications on social networks aimed at inducing citizens to participate in the Armed Forces of Ukraine recognized as terrorist armed groups in Russia and financing activities to prepare these individuals for participation in them.

The man also carried out transfers for the needs of such battalions.

“Finally, the accused Ya. was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 5 years with serving in a correctional colony under a reinforced regime,” the court added.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Belarus Dmitry Gora, in an interview with the TV channel Belarus 1, announced a significant decrease in the activity of extremists in the country.

In October, the Investigative Committee of Belarus announced that it had opened a case against the founders and members of the extremist battalion of Belarusian mercenaries in Ukraine.
