has activated this Monday the orange warning (important risk) in 8 communities due to

snowfall

at levels close to 700 meters, strong waves and gusts of wind of up to 100 kilometers per hour, reports the State Agency for Meteorology (

Aemet

) on its website.

Asturias

has an orange warning along the entire coastline due to a southwesterly

wind

moving to the west, between 62 and 74 km/h (force 8), occasionally between 75 and 88 km/h (force 9) with waves that will rise to 7-8 meters;

in the mountains, Picos de Europa, central zone and mining valleys there is a yellow level due to rain and wind.

Aragon

is in orange level due to

snowfall

in the Huesca

Pyrenees

that will leave 30 centimeters from 700-800 meters, exceeding the orange level threshold above about 900-1000 meters;

Aemet warns that the snow will be more abundant in the western half, where local accumulations of more than 40 cm are possible.

In the province of Zaragoza there is a yellow warning for snow that will leave 2 cm in areas of the Cinco Villas and a warning, also yellow, in Teruel and Zaragoza for wind gusts of 80 km per hour.

Cantabria

continues in orange due to

rains

that will accumulate up to 80 liters in 12 hours in the center, Villaverde valley and on the coast, and due to west-southwest winds between 62 and 74 km/h (force 8), occasionally between 75-88 km /h (force 9) and waves of 6-8 meters.

will also get stronger in

Galicia

, where the orange warning persists due

to maximum wind gusts of 100 km/h

in A Coruña and Lugo, and due to coastal phenomena with a southwest wind between 62 and 74 km/h (force 8). and occasionally between 75 and 88 km/h (force 9) in Ortegal-Bares, as well as waves between 7-8 meters.

In the Foral de

Navarra

community, there is an orange alert in the

Pyrenees

due to accumulation of snow in 24 hours of 20 cm above 700 meters, and a yellow warning for rains on the Cantabrian slope that will leave 60 liters in 12 hours, while in the

country In the

Basque Country

there is a strong maritime storm with a west-southwest

wind

between 62 and 74 km/h (force 8) and waves rising from 7 to 8 meters.

Catalonia

continues with an orange level in the province of

Girona

due to southwest coastal

winds

of 60 to 70 km/h (force 7) and waves of 3 to 4 meters;

Throughout the Catalan Pyrenees there is also a yellow warning for

snowfall

that will leave between 5-10 cm thick.

Andalusia

is in orange in the provinces of

Almería

and

Málaga

due to west winds that will blow between 60-70 km/h (force 8) and waves that will reach 4 meters in height;

In Malaga there is a yellow warning due to strong waves.

In the

Balearic Islands

, both

Castillas, the Community of Madrid, the Region of Murcia, La Rioja, the Valencian Community and Melilla,

there is a yellow warning for

rain

, adverse coastal phenomena, wind or snow.

Aemet

warns that

with the orange alert there is a significant meteorological risk, with a certain degree of danger for the usual activities

, and with the yellow alert there is no meteorological risk for the population in general, although there is for some specific activity.
