Shortly after 15:00 on Sunday, SMHI raised its warning for the watercourse Lagan, which flows through Ljungby.

Snowmelt and rain have caused high flows, which are expected to last a few more days, the authority writes on its website.

This means very high current speeds in the waterways downstream from Lake Vidöstern to the confluence with Bolmån.

According to SMHI, these are flows that occur on average every 25 to 50 years.

Previous flood warnings

Earlier this week, SMHI issued, among other things, an orange warning for floods in Storån north of Västervik, and several yellow warnings for high flows.

The rescue service in Kalmar has previously warned of floods in, among other things, Ljungbyån in Kalmar.
