“I have not formed any opinion on this matter, except for what I have already said - I observe the tragic events in my beloved Ukraine with compassion,” Konchalovsky was quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to him, cases of "historical blinding of huge masses of people" are known, and insight is inevitable.

Earlier, Zelensky put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) on sanctions against 198 people.

According to the decree, Andrei Konchalovsky, producer Yana Rudkovskaya, and war correspondent Semyon Pegov fell under Ukrainian sanctions.

In addition, the decree applies to TV presenter Marina Kim, as well as journalists Pavel Zarubin and Marina Akhmedova.

The sanctions are introduced for a period of 10 years.
