Fredrik Dahlberg and an employee have the afternoon shift at the firewood machine, where log after log of birch is cut, split and packed in large mesh bags.

They have long since sold out of last year's production and what is being produced now is for next season.

And it is primarily to larger buyers in both Sweden and Norway.

- We have an order to Norway for 1,500 bags of 1.5 cubic meters which we are working on at the moment, says Fredrik Dahlberg.

There is a huge boom in the firewood industry right now.

Profitable investment

A few years ago, Fredrik Dahlberg and his brothers invested approximately one million kroner in a larger woodworking machine.

An investment that will soon pay off.

- When we started, firewood was actually far too cheap, but with today's firewood prices, it is of course faster to earn money for the investment in machines and the building itself.

Big price increase

In addition to large orders for buyers, they also try to produce firewood for local consumers.

The customers who have already ordered firewood for next year can buy at the price they were promised.

But the great demand, and an increasingly costly production, means that new customers will have to pay several hundred kroner more for each sack.
