Houthi escalation of marches towards Yemeni army positions in Saada and Lahj governorates

The Yemeni army forces, and the joint and southern forces, shot down two drones launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards military sites in the governorates of Saada and Lahj.

Field sources in the Kataf district of the Saada border governorate with Saudi Arabia confirmed that the defenses of the Yemeni army forces were able to bring down a booby-trapped march launched by the Houthi militia towards their positions in the district, in light of their combat escalation on the front lines in conjunction with regional and international moves to reach a lasting peace in the country.

This comes as the militias continued their combat movements on the Saada fronts, where the army forces targeted new Houthi positions in the Shada district, which led to the destruction of Houthi weapons and fortifications, leaving two dead and four wounded among the Houthis, who were taken to the Razih district hospital.

In Lahj, field sources in the southern and joint forces confirmed that their weapons were able to destroy positions for launching booby-trapped marches on the fronts around Karish, north of the province.

It indicated that the attack came after the militia launched a booby-trapped march on the site of the 10th Brigade, on the Habil Hanash front, killing one soldier and wounding another.

For its part, the Houthi militia bombed the villages of the Hawamrah area in the Karsh front, between Taiz and Lahj, killing a woman and injuring a child and another woman.

And while Yemeni military sources confirmed that the militia used booby-trapped marches that had recently arrived from the sea ports, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alami, directed the local authority in Al-Mahra to combat smuggling, including weapons smuggled to the Houthi militia.

Regarding Houthi violations and crimes, the Saudi "Masam" project confirmed that its field teams managed to remove 1,207 mines and unexploded ordnance from Houthi remnants in Yemeni territory during the past week.

On peace efforts, informed sources in Sana'a confirmed that the Omani delegation left the capital after a 5-day visit, bringing with it positive responses from the Houthis on the files of the dispute, noting that the delegation's discussions with the Houthis focused on the humanitarian aspect, which paves the way for achieving lasting peace.

The sources expected the results of the visit to be announced following the briefing of the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, before the Security Council tomorrow, Monday, pointing out that there are signs of a breakthrough in the humanitarian files, paving the way for extending the armistice and moving to permanent peace consultations.

And Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak, during his meeting with the American and British ambassadors to Yemen separately, stressed the Yemeni government's openness to all efforts aimed at achieving peace in Yemen, and to do everything that would end the coup, restore security and stability, and alleviate the suffering of the Yemenis.
