Controversy is growing as confidential documents from the time of the vice president were found again at the sister-in-law of US President Joe Biden in Delaware.

President Biden's White House attorney Richard Sauber said in a statement on the 14th (local time) that five pages of additional documents marked as confidential were found at President Biden's private residence in Wilmington, Delaware on the 12th, and immediately contacted the Department of Justice. He said he passed it on.

Prior to that, Attorney Sauber explained that he had found additional documents while visiting the sister-in-law to help turn over confidential documents found at the Wilmington mansion to the Department of Justice.

He said, "In the process of handing over the documents to the Ministry of Justice officials accompanying me at the time, I found five additional documents marked confidential, and the Ministry of Justice employees immediately took them."

A total of six pages of classified documents found in the sister-in-law so far, he added.

Earlier, on November 2 of last year, six days before the midterm elections, the fact that confidential documents were found in President Biden's personal office was revealed for the first time on the 9th, about two months later.

On the 12th, Attorney Sauber further revealed that a small amount of documents were found in a warehouse in the garage of President Biden's Wilmington sister-in-law, and that a one-page document with a confidential mark was found in the room attached to it.

However, it did not say when the document was discovered.

As the wave grew, such as the discovery of confidential documents at the president's sister-in-law, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed former prosecutor Robert Huh, a former prosecutor who served as chief assistant secretary of the Ministry of Justice and chief prosecutor at the Maryland State Prosecutor's Office, as a special prosecutor and entrusted the investigation. .

“We have made public the specifics of the identified documents, including where they were found,” Sauber said. “The White House will work with the special counsel.”

President Biden's personal lawyer, Bob Bauer, also issued a statement and said that Biden had ordered full cooperation with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and the Department of Justice.

President Biden headed to Wilmington's sister-in-law the day before for the weekend.

It is the first time since the document leakage scandal broke out on the 9th that we are staying in the space where the documents were found.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said a congressional investigation into the case was necessary, and the House Republicans launched their own investigation the day before to see if the Justice Department was properly handling it.

The Republican Party is urging a thorough investigation into this leak surrounding President Biden, emphasizing that former President Donald Trump is also being investigated by a special prosecutor for leaking more than 100 confidential documents during his retirement.

However, the White House and the Democratic Party claim that President Biden is not aware of the leak of documents, voluntarily reports to the authorities immediately upon discovery, and is actively cooperating with the investigation.

In particular, it is known that the leaked documents include information reports related to Iran, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom, and Republicans are suspicious of access to these documents by the second son Hunter, who was recruited as an executive at a Ukrainian energy company during Biden's vice president. .

Immediately before the midterm elections, the White House did not disclose the fact that the document was leaked even though it was first recognized, and after two months passed, it was reported through media coverage, and the US media reported suspicions about why it belatedly admitted.
