Gut-Behrami, third Saturday in the first super-G, beat four Italian skiers: Brignone by 15/100, Marta Bassino by 19/100 and Elena Curtoni by 52/100.

"It was a wonderful weekend. I tried to stretch the lines hard today, and with the start of the race which was far from clean, I tried to push as much as possible", indicated the Swiss.

Unlike the day before, when the route had been shortened, the skiers descended the Karl Schranz piste on a complete course, covered by a gray sky dotted with a few clearings.

Gut-Behrami, Olympic champion in the specialty in Beijing last year, used her science of trajectories on the last part of the track, the most tricky, to make the difference.

This mixture of speed and curves fits perfectly with the qualities of the Swiss.

At 31, she collected her 18th victory on the world circuit in the discipline, placing her second all-time behind American Lindsey Vonn (28).

"I'm happy to be skiing at this level in super-G after so many years, and as I want to. My first victory in super-G I had it 14 years ago, I never thought I would have so much success", appreciated Gut-Behrami.

"Physical"

Still at the top of the general classification, Mikaela Shiffrin had not made the trip to Austria, to recover from the sequence which saw her equal the number of victories of Lindsey Vonn (82).

Party at fault on Saturday, the Italian Sofia Goggia had decided to skip Sunday "as a precaution", even if examinations carried out in Milan for her knee did not reveal any injury.

The Olympic downhill vice-champion is choosing caution, hoping to shine at home next week in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Probably fourth on Saturday, Tessa Worley fell back in the hierarchy to 12th on Sunday.

"It was physical, two races in a row that requires a lot nervously and physically. I didn't have super precise support, I felt less dominating, I make small mistakes, curves that drag a little, it's expensive even if it remains a correct result", she commented in the mixed zone.

Best tricolor, Romane Miradoli took 7th place after a disappointing 31st place on Saturday.

"It's a good result, solid compared to yesterday. I'm happy to have had a good race but I'm not starting very well. I felt really strange at the start, I had a lack of aggressiveness, he was heat was not possible and I felt sluggish. I took less risk than yesterday, it's still a solid ski. Today, unpretentious, it's sure that I was not at the limit that allows to play in front," she said.

Second, Federica Brignone continues to string together good results, perhaps motivated by the gift received during Christmas from the Italian team, celebrated a little late in Austria.

"With my brother, we received a + hot + (naughty) apron for cooking, with huge breasts! I made so many + wooden medals + as they say in Italy (for a 4th place) that I had announced at the team want to make a fire for a big barbecue, so they offered me this apron + hot +”, she launched, hilarious, considering herself “very happy with this magnificent weekend”.
