Argentinian tourist killed in Nepal plane crash

It is said that an Argentinian female mountaineer in her 50s died in a plane crash yesterday (15th) while visiting Nepal to fulfill her lifelong dream.

According to Argentinian daily Lanacion, a plane crash in Pokhara, central Nepal, killed 68 of the 72 passengers and crew, including a 57-year-old Argentinian woman named Janet Sandra Palavesino.

Palavesino, the sole Argentinian victim of the disaster, is said to be a businessman and mountaineer in the southern province of Neuquen who works in the hotel industry and has two children.

When the news of his death was announced, acquaintances posted condolences on social media and commemorated him.

Her social media user Karina Tumini wrote, "Janet Palavesino.

She was a strong woman who lived and died to pursue her own dreams.

With her respect and admiration."

Another friend of Palavesino said, "She is such a nice woman. She was a known mountaineer in Neuken and going to Nepal was his long-held dream" and she mourned his death.

Palavesino was running a Swiss hotel in Neuquen with his family, and as the tourism industry suffered from the 2020 Corona 19 pandemic, it was known that he took the lead in enacting the 'Tourism Emergency Law' to stimulate the industry.
