Yemen.. Houthi militias escalate on the fronts of Marib, Taiz and Saada

Today, Saturday, the Yemeni army and resistance forces thwarted a large-scale attack by the terrorist Houthi militia on their positions in the Al-Ahkom district of Al-Silw district, south of Taiz governorate, according to field sources, confirming the failure of the militias to achieve a breakthrough towards the liberated sites in the governorate.

The sources pointed out that the militias have renewed their attacks in southern Taiz, which have been halted for two years, as part of their combat escalation on the fronts, following their rejection of various peace efforts.

And it reported that the militias also attacked army and resistance positions on the Al-Rubaie fronts and the vicinity of Jabal Han, Wadi Khatran and Al-Ahtoub in western Taiz governorate, using various weapons, as well as targeting residential neighborhoods in Kalaba and Wadi Salah on the eastern front of the city.

In Marib, the artillery of the army and the resistance targeted combat reinforcements of the terrorist Houthi militia in the southern axis of the governorate, while one of the militia leaders and two of his companions were captured in the vicinity of the eastern Balq front in the Al-Juba district.

The official spokesman for the Yemeni army, Brigadier General Abdo Magali, indicated in a press statement that the militias have stepped up during the past days, on the various fronts of Marib, Taiz, Al-Jawf, Saada, Al-Dhalea and Lahj, and that the forces and the resistance managed to thwart their attacks and infiltration attempts, causing them great losses.

In Saada, the army forces thwarted an attempt to infiltrate Houthi elements towards their positions in the border district of Munabbih, inflicting heavy losses on their ranks.

In Al-Jawf, armed confrontations broke out between tribal and other elements of the Houthi militia, against the background of the latter's attempt to storm the Al-Habal camp for the displaced, east of Al-Yatma district, which caused casualties among the Houthis.

In Shabwa, the forces of the First Brigade of the Shabwa Defense thwarted a terrorist operation by the "Al-Qaeda" organization, by launching an attack on its site in the Musina'a area of ​​​​Al-Saeed Directorate, and inflicted heavy losses on it.

In Hodeidah, violent explosions took place in one of the Houthi weapons depots in the Bayt al-Faqih district, which caused a state of panic and terror among civilians living in the isolated area of ​​al-Husayniyya, where the explosions occurred.

Residents of the district condemned the incident and denounced the militia's storage of weapons in the wasta of residential neighborhoods, as part of its combat escalation on the western coast by sending weapons and fighters to separate fronts of Hodeidah.

In Sana'a, informed sources confirmed that the Houthi militia refused to receive the UN envoy, Hans Grundberg, in the capital, which led to the cancellation of his visit, which was scheduled for Saturday, as part of his efforts to renew the UN armistice and reach a new agreement.

While the Houthi militia renewed its adherence to its conditions to revive the armistice, foremost of which is paying the salaries of employees, including its military and security fighters, and lifting the siege on the ports and Sana’a airport,  


the UN Security Council will hold a closed consultation session next Monday, to study the situation and developments in Yemen, in an indication of continued stumbling. In the efforts led by the United Nations, hoping to renew the faltering ceasefire and armistice agreement since October 2022.
