The document specifies that the initiative will be overseen by the public relations department of the United States Embassy in Tbilisi.

It is the US diplomatic mission that accepts proposals for programs aimed at "strengthening cultural ties between the United States and Georgia through cultural and exchange programs that emphasize common values and promote bilateral cooperation."

The priority area of work for future contractors should be "strengthening democracy, culture, institutions, values and civil society" in the regions of Georgia through art, in particular related to the United States.

At the same time, recipients of funding will have to make efforts to preserve the cultural heritage of Georgia, spread American culture in the country, organize international festivals, and so on.

Contractors are offered to achieve the goals set by the American side, including through lectures, seminars and exhibitions, the description of the grant says.

The amount of funding that the State Department is ready to allocate for the implementation of the initiative should not exceed $250,000.

Earlier it was reported about the intention of the United States to allocate up to $100,000 to "advance" women's rights, "support" people with disabilities, as well as to promote the "recognition" of LGBT people in Moldova.

According to experts, such US initiatives involve interference in the internal affairs of those states where they are carried out.
