She noted that she received from relatives of captured Russian servicemen footage of mockery of them.

“I call on the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, the UN Committee against Torture, the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the International Committee of the Red Cross to immediately demand that the Ukrainian side comply with the Geneva Convention of 1949,” Moskalkova wrote in her Telegram -channel.

The Ombudswoman added that she was preparing an appeal to the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin.

Earlier it was reported that Moskalkova, at a meeting with the Ombudsman of Ukraine Dmitry Lubinets, discussed the possibility of exchanging civilians who are being persecuted for their “pro-Russian position”.

She noted that at the meeting in Turkey she saw the pragmatic approach of the Ukrainian ombudsman and readiness for dialogue.
