Former Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt reportedly lost millions to fraud

Millions of dollars are said to have disappeared from the bank accounts of Usain Bolt, Olympic champion sprinter.

An investigation has been opened in his country, Jamaica, and it is an investment company that is singled out for a possible scam.

About ten years ago, then at the top of the world sprint, Usain Bolt had invested money in the company Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL).

But by consulting his accounts on Wednesday January 11, the former athlete,

retired for almost six years

before failing as a footballer, found anomalies.

Millions of US dollars were missing.

Ongoing investigation

The star's investment portfolio is being scrutinized by Jamaican authorities.

"

 Every measure has been taken to find out the end of this story

," promises Usain Bolt's manager, Nugent Walker.

Jamaica's Financial Services Commission (FSC) said it had placed Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL) under " 

enhanced scrutiny

 " for the duration of the investigation.

This goes much further than the sprinter's accounts.

More than 20 SSL customers have reportedly been victims of similar frauds. 

It is a former employee of the firm who is suspected of having orchestrated this large scam worth several million dollars.

Pending the conclusions of the investigation, the slightest transaction carried out by SSL is monitored by the authorities.
