The man who came to Sweden in 2015 is married to a woman in Västerbotten inland.
According to the prosecutor's suspicions, the rapes of the wife's adult daughter began already in 2016. Shortly after that, the woman gave birth to a child and according to the authorities' investigations, which SVT Nyheter Västerbotten has heard, the suspected rapist is the father.
- The child was taken into care immediately at birth, says Lars Lindh, who filed a police report and is now the woman's guardian.
Suspects that the rapes have been going on for several years
The man denies the crime, but according to the prosecutor, the rapes against the woman continued for several years.
Last fall, the woman gave birth to another child, and even then the authorities identified the woman's stepfather as the child's father.
The child was taken into care by the authorities immediately after birth.
- The important thing now is that the children are well looked after, says Lars Lindh.
Last fall, Lars Lindh received information about the suspected rapes and filed a police report.
The suspect has previously stayed away as he was to be deported after having his application for a residence permit rejected.
Last fall, the man was arrested in his absence, but could be arrested earlier this week.
He was then detained on probable cause on suspicion of multiple rapes of his stepdaughter.
The man denies any wrongdoing
- The authorities have acted completely correctly and it is important that this is investigated, says Lars Lindh.
During the custody proceedings, the man has denied the crime, but his lawyer does not want to comment on the case.
Neither the woman's plaintiff's counsel nor the prosecutor want to say anything.
