Lisa Marie Presley, singer-songwriter, only daughter of singing legend Elvis Presley and first wife of Michael Jackson, has died at the age of 54.

And her mother, actress Priscilla Presley, announced - in a statement - the death of Lisa Marie, Thursday, at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center, after she suffered a heart attack earlier yesterday at her home in Calabasas, California.

"It is with a heavy heart that I must share this devastating news," Priscilla said. "My beautiful daughter, Lisa Marie, has passed away."

"She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I've ever known," she added.

Priscilla asked everyone to respect the family's privacy in the face of her deep loss.

Rock princess

Dubbed the Princess of Rock, Lisa Marie Presley was born at the height of the fame of the King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley in 1968.

Lisa began her musical career in 2003 with the album "To Whom it May Concern", which ranked fifth on the Billboard 200 Billboard Charts for best-selling albums. She wrote all the album's lyrics except for one song and participated in composing all its songs. Her album also ranked Next, "Now What" ranked ninth on the Billboard.

At the time, Lisa Marie Presley stated that everyone should stop putting pressure on her and comparing her to her legendary singer father.

Lisa Marie appeared in the filming of Michael Jackson's song "You are not alone", in 1995, whom she married after her divorce from her ex-husband.
