The panic.

In Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), 26 inhabitants of the Saint-Jacques district had to be urgently evacuated from their accommodation on Thursday.

At issue: demolition work that threatens their home, reports France 3 Occitanie.

No warning for residents

A block of buildings must indeed be destroyed.

But the project risks impacting the terraced houses, which are threatened with collapse.

The danger is imminent and the 26 Perpignanais had to leave their apartments hastily.



Demolition work should begin this Friday and last several days.

For their part, the inhabitants hope for only one thing: to be able to return home quickly.
