The decision on the fees was made in December, and immediately there were protests against the level of the increases.

Ann Kajson Carlqvist's fee would, among other things, be increased by 75 percent in two years.

"We may have made a mistake"

The protests from the Trelleborgs were not long in coming.

The decision was appealed, and this is what made the board reconsider.

- The administrative court has asked us questions, and we now realize that we may have made a mistake when the decision was taken, says Ann Kajson Carlqvist to SVT Nyheter.

The error would consist in the fact that the relevant politicians, whose fees are listed, themselves participated in the decision.

- Another reason why we want to redo the process is the protests that the issue has caused, says Kajson Carlqvist.

On all points

She says that at the meeting on January 30, the municipal council in Trelleborg will cancel the decision, which was taken on December 19, on all points.

A new remuneration committee will be tasked with coming up with a new remuneration proposal by the full council meeting on 27 February.

- When we decide on it, none of us municipal councilors who are affected will be in the room, assures Ann Kajson Carlqvist.

How does it feel to have to backtrack like this?

- In view of the jävs issue and in view of public opinion, it feels very good to redo and do the right thing, says Kajson Carlqvist.
