- We have had to revise the forecast we had that the water levels would reach their peak on Wednesday in, among other places, Värnamo.

We see a shift of around three to four days, says Måns Lindell, administrator at the water unit, County Administrative Board in Jönköping County in a press release.

The County Administrative Board is now making the assessment that the water levels will rise even more in the coming days because more rain is expected during the weekend.

During yesterday, a total of 1300 meters of barrier was built in several places in Värnamo to prevent flooding.

"Stay at home"

The County Administrative Board is now urging property owners in the affected areas to try to stay at home as much as possible to keep an eye on what is happening.

- So we see a worse situation ahead of the weekend than previously thought, on a par with February 2020, says Måns Lindell.
