- We have extremely much to do right now.

Partly there is a lot of sweeping due to people burning more than normal, and then the number of inspections for new installations has also increased, says Daniel Ringström Grentzelius, chimney sweep technician at Norrköping's Sweeping and Ventilation.

The wood stove must rest

But there are serious risks to using his fireplace as a primary heat source and he warns against burning too hard.

- A normal wood-burning stove is intended to be a space heater.

It is not made to heat an entire house - as a wood boiler does.

The rule of thumb here is that you burn for a maximum of four hours and then it must rest for the same number of hours.

It's because you shouldn't accumulate heat in joists that are in walls and ceilings, says Daniel Ringström Grentzelius.
