President Joe Biden welcomed Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who visited Washington DC for the first time after taking office for a summit meeting on the 13th local time, at the White House.

In particular, the two leaders created a friendly atmosphere, with President Biden putting his hand on the shoulder of Prime Minister Kishida, who was wearing a suit of a similar color to his own, and displaying a friendly feeling.

Even in the chilly weather of about 8℃, President Biden came out to the front of the White House building at around 11:15 am that day to greet Prime Minister Kishida.

There was also a red carpet in front of the building with two Marines stationed on either side of the door.

Then, around 11:19, a vehicle carrying Prime Minister Kishida arrived, and President Biden happily shook hands with Prime Minister Kishida who got out of the vehicle.

Both of them drew attention by wearing a black suit and a tie with a diagonal pattern.

President Biden waved his hand at the reporters as he placed one hand on Prime Minister Kishida's shoulder as Prime Minister Kishida's vehicle pulled out.

The two then entered the White House building.

Prior to the official meeting, the two leaders, sitting side by side in the office of President Biden, exchanged good wishes with each other.

President Biden said of this meeting, "It's an amazing moment at the alliance level," and said, "I don't think we've ever been this close."
