On the occasion of the presentation of the pension reform, the Prime Minister focused on improving the management of difficult professions, in particular by improving the professional prevention account (C2P).

An account that has so far struggled to prove itself, in particular because of decisions... by Emmanuel Macron.

Workers, caregivers, cooks... These jobs have one thing in common: their arduous nature.

Repetitive gestures, painful postures... Thousands of French people are faced with these ailments.

So, for several years, the State has taken this difficult work into account, thanks to the professional prevention account (C2P), where employees accumulate points for each year of arduous work, which they can then convert into early departure at the retreat.

A failure

And, during the presentation of the pension reform, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne insisted on the will of the executive to improve this system, with in particular a better consideration of night hours.

However, the results of this device are awaited. 

Since 2015, only 12,000 employees have used it, including nearly 10,000 to benefit from early retirement.

This represents barely 1% of the two million accounts opened by companies.

A failure for which Emmanuel Macron is partly responsible.

Quite simply because in 2017, four of the ten hardship criteria were removed, such as painful postures, carrying heavy loads, mechanical vibrations and exposure to dust.

Criteria which were deemed unquantifiable by employers, and which have therefore been removed.

Reinforced medical follow-up

But their disappearance has slowed the development of C2P.

"There is no relationship between the number of accounts that were created between 2015 and 2017 and the feeds that are made today on the six criteria that remain in the C2P", explains at the microphone of Europe 1, the vice-president of the CPME, Eric Chevée. 

In addition to the improvement of the C2P, the pension reform plans to allocate 1 billion euros to the prevention of wear and tear linked to painful postures, the carrying of loads and vibrations.

The employees concerned will benefit from reinforced medical monitoring and easier access to professional retraining.
