His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, issued a law establishing the "Abu Dhabi Media Office" to replace the "Abu Dhabi Government Media Office".
According to the law, the Abu Dhabi Media Office will have an independent legal personality to be responsible for strengthening the unified media system in the emirate by setting the strategy and policy for media and government communication and approving media plans for government agencies and companies, in addition to organizing, authorizing, supervising and controlling media production and interactive media activities in the emirate, including including free zones.
The new office also supervises the conclusion of strategic partnerships with local, regional and international media institutions to stimulate and develop the media sector at the emirate level, and strengthen efforts to unify the messages of media campaigns and strategic plans for various government agencies, in addition to approving relevant media plans and supervising their activation locally and internationally in coordination with the relevant authorities. .
With the aim of enhancing national competencies in the media sector in all its forms, the Abu Dhabi Media Office will work on developing programs that seek to develop skills and build the capacities of media communication teams in government agencies and companies, in addition to its affiliated media institutions, and develop the necessary policies in this regard.
The office will also be responsible for preparing the guiding rules and directives for the use of the emirate's logo and its governmental and promotional identity in a way that guarantees preservation and promotion, and the provision of related services and initiatives.
In order to promote the growth of the creative and interactive media sector in the emirate, the office will work, through coordination and cooperation with the concerned authorities and leading media institutions in this field, to provide the necessary infrastructure for the prosperity of creative institutions through organizing and supervising media production activities for private sector companies in addition to developing initiatives to attract Media content and its promotion in the emirate.
