The Israeli newspaper Haaretz published an article by journalist Gideon Levy describing the conditions in the Jenin refugee camp, in which 38 of its residents were killed during the past year alone, according to the article.

Levy said he saw many beautiful things in the camp, "whose residents are resolute, well-organised, and have a fighting spirit perhaps unparalleled in history."

He highlighted that the Israeli army did not dare to invade the camp a year ago, and only attacked its outskirts, while the Palestinian Authority had not been able to enter it for years, and its residents did not allow any Israeli journalist to visit it, except for journalist Amira Hass, after the Israeli journalists disappointed the camp residents. .

The article shed light on the suffering of the camp's residents due to the crimes committed by Israel against them and said, "There is no home here that has not suffered from bereavement, and there is no family that does not have a member of its family who has suffered a serious disability or has been absent in Israeli prisons."

Levy, who is visiting the camp after a 4-year absence from it, noticed that the martyrs' cemetery in the camp has become full, and there is an urgent need to establish a section in the cemetery to accommodate those who may become martyrs in the future.

He pointed out that the camp residents told him that a massacre would inevitably occur if the Israeli army invaded the camp, adding that they "say this without any fear or boasting."

In his article, the Israeli writer likened the situation of the Jenin camp in the Gaza Strip in terms of the extent of the suffering of its residents, the courage and high morale they enjoy, and the warmth that one feels when visiting it. He also likened what is happening in it and the crimes committed in it to what the Russian forces did in the Ukrainian city of Bucha.

He pointed out that the youths of the camp had set up blue iron barriers at the entrances to the camp, as is the case in Ukraine.

Levy warned that "the Jenin refugee camp may become a new version of the Ukrainian city of Bucha one day, and perhaps very soon. No Israeli should rejoice in that."

The Ukrainian city of Bucha, which is located northwest of Kyiv, was subjected to widespread destruction as a result of the "Russian invasion" of Ukraine before Kyiv regained control over it, and the Ukrainian authorities accuse the Russian forces of carrying out mass executions in the city.
