A 53-year-old man emerged unscathed from an avalanche that broke out late Tuesday morning in Beaufort (Savoie).

He was practicing ski touring in an area located outside the ski area when he was surprised by the snowflow, details France Bleu Pays de Savoie.

The 50-year-old was then alone in the Légette du Mirantin area.

Rescuers described the avalanche he suffered as "fairly large".

The skier found himself completely covered in snow.

As he was buried, the man triggered his airbag bag, which kept him fairly close to the surface.

He was also carrying an avalanche victim detector (DVA).

Alps, Météo-France mainly estimates the avalanche risk at 3, i.e. marked.

The BERA were many plates, easily triggered depending on the massifs.

Risk 3 is NOT a medium risk, to remember it, favor the English translation: considerable.

The accident occurred when the avalanche risk was indicated as being very high in the Northern Alps sector.

The National Association for the Study of Snow and Avalanches (Anena) mentioned the same day on Twitter "many plates, easily triggered according to the massifs".
