A Palestinian was shot dead by the Israeli army during its storming of Qalandia refugee camp, north of Jerusalem, at dawn yesterday, while sources reported that the Israeli forces arrested 15 Palestinians, including a boy, and five freed prisoners.
And the Safa News Agency quoted local sources as saying that Israeli soldiers targeted Samir Aslan “after he tried to defend his son Ramzi during his arrest, as part of an arrest campaign carried out by the Israeli forces in Qalandia camp, at dawn yesterday, then they seized his body and prevented the people from providing him with first aid.”
The sources added that violent clashes erupted between the Israeli forces and Palestinian youths who threw stones at the forces.
For its part, the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) indicated that with Aslan's death, the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli army bullets during the past 24 hours rose to three.
On the other hand, Palestinian sources reported that the Israeli forces arrested, yesterday, 15 Palestinians, including a boy, and five freed prisoners, from Qalandia camp, north of Jerusalem.
The Palestinian News and Information Agency quoted local sources as saying that the arrests came after homes were raided and searched.
The Israeli forces also stormed, at dawn yesterday, the town of Ya`bad, southwest of Jenin, and raided a number of houses, searched them and interrogated their residents.
In Nablus, Palestinian medical sources reported that 10 Palestinians were injured, yesterday, in clashes with the Israeli army, when it stormed the city in the northern West Bank.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society stated, in a press statement, that its crews dealt with five injuries from live bullets, including two journalists, two injuries from a military jeep run over, and three injuries from live bullet shrapnel.
Local sources said that large forces of the Israeli army stormed the city of Nablus from several axes, and surrounded a house in the old city of the city, as a result of which clashes broke out with Palestinian gunmen.
According to the sources, the army forces arrested three young men from the old city of Nablus before withdrawing from the area.
