The article says that in Ukraine and the West, analysts, officials and soldiers are worried that Kyiv allowed itself to be drawn into the battle for Artyomovsk on “Russian terms”, which led to heavy losses.
The author writes that some of them believe that the Armed Forces of Ukraine need to withdraw to a new line of defense on the heights west of Artyomovsk, "while such a withdrawal can still be organized."
The WSJ also wrote that one of the commanders of the Ukrainian troops admitted heavy losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Artemivsk area.
