SVT's reporter on the government's announcement: Great opportunity for more small nuclear power reactors

According to Climate Minister Romina Pourmokhtari (L), new reactors should be able to be built where they do the most good.

The restrictions in the environmental code will be abolished and more actors will be able to build reactors.

- It can be municipalities, companies and industries that want both heat and electricity.

Steps towards the expansion

Today's announcement means that the government is taking further steps towards the expansion of Swedish nuclear power.

Something that was promised in the Tidö Agreement, says Johan Zachrisson Winberg.
