According to the agency, Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand announced the purchase of NASAMS air defense systems and ammunition for it from the United States with subsequent transfer to Kyiv.
“This assistance, worth approximately $406 million, is based on an additional $500 million in military assistance to Ukraine announced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on November 14, 2022,” the statement said.
Earlier it became known that foreign countries and international organizations since the beginning of Russia's special operation in Ukraine have provided assistance to Kyiv totaling more than $150.8 billion.
