  According to the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) report, at 7:20 a.m. that day, the FAA updated the post on social media Twitter saying that it had ordered airlines to suspend all domestic flights until 9 a.m. ET to allow the agency to verify Integrity of flight and security information in computerized systems.

  "While some computer systems have begun to regain functionality, the nation's air systems remain limited in their operations," the FAA wrote.

  United Airlines said it has temporarily postponed all domestic flights until at least 10 a.m.

  As previously reported, the FAA stated that "due to the 'failure' of the air task notification system, the entire air system was affected." The FAA wrote in a notice on its official website.

"Technicians are currently working to restore the system."

  According to data from the US flight tracking website Flightaware, as of around 8 a.m. Eastern Time on the 11th, a total of about 2,500 international flights within the United States and to and from the United States have been delayed and about 250 flights have been cancelled.

  The system is currently being restored and flight disruptions continue.
