The Departmental Directorate of Public Security (DDSP) in the North launched a search warrant on Tuesday to find a couple of octogenarians who had disappeared since New Year's Day, near Maubeuge, in the North.

Marie-France Dumortier and Richard Di Gennaro, aged 79 and 83 respectively, residing in Roubaix, near Lille, have not given any sign of life since the start of the new year.

It was 6:47 p.m. when their mobile phones last died, while the couple were traveling in their vehicle, a Citroën C3.

The signal came from the town of La Longueville, on the departmental road D649, near Maubeuge, where their daughter lives.

The trail of a car accident

The octogenarians therefore never returned home and could have been victims of a road accident.

Qualified as worrying by the police, the disappearance of the couple is therefore the subject of an investigation.

The searches undertaken have not yielded anything yet.

The vehicle is therefore a dark gray C3, registered EJ-598-HV.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Roubaix police station at 03.20.81.34.40.
