The body of a 44-year-old man was discovered in a burning car this Sunday near the highway in the town of Jozerand (Puy-de-Dôme), near Clermont-Ferrand, reports La Montagne.

Alerted, the firefighters intervened to put out the fire.

They are the ones who discovered the body of the victim in the vehicle, which would have tipped over in a ditch after leaving the road.

According to information from Actu Saint-Etienne, the corpse was, strangely enough, in the trunk of the car.

A scheduled autopsy

According to the first elements, the victim was returning from a hunting trip that day.

The 40-year-old was transporting several dogs in a trailer in the back.

Unharmed, the animals were recovered and entrusted to a local association.

Investigators from the Clermont-Ferrand criminal investigation unit took samples on the spot and DNA tests should confirm the identity of the victim.

An autopsy of the body will also take place while the investigation continues to identify the circumstances of the tragedy.
