This Wednesday marks the launch of the sales.

A period expected of consumers, while inflation has eaten away at some of their purchasing power.

So, in the merchants do not hesitate to attack hard by offering discounts reaching up to 70%.

But beware, there won't be enough for everyone, as stocks in some stores are already low.

-20, -30, -50%... On store windows, the appearance of these figures heralds positive results for consumers' wallets.

And for good reason, the winter sales start today.

But on the occasion of this 2023 season, the good deals will not benefit everyone, because some stores no longer have a lot of stock and others want to quickly liquidate their old collections.

New consumer habits

This is the case of Nabilla's shop.

On the window of his ephemeral business, the words 'Everything must disappear'.

"We're going to start off strong this year," she says.

"We are going to be on 40 and even 70%. It has to be calls for tenders from the start so that it can go well", explains the trader at the microphone of Europe 1.

Because with inflation, customers expect promotions more than ever, underline the traders.

"I have a lot of customers who come to scout, and who report it to me. (...) They have a new purchase education," said Kady, manager of a men's clothing store.

"Now, customers are waiting for pre-sales, or sales," she adds at the microphone of Europe 1.

 Stocks already well attacked

The saleswoman advises customers to come quickly to avoid stock shortages because.

While some stores still have a lot of goods to sell, others have already sold well in recent months, especially during the cold spell in early December.

"We found ourselves out of coats, hats, neck warmers because everyone was looking for warmth" at this time, explains Edith at the microphone of Europe 1". Finally, with the multiplication of private sales just before the sales, many brands have already attacked their stock, leaving few quantities available in stores.
