AFP and CNN reported on the 11th local time that the computer information system of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) malfunctioned and delayed flights across the United States.

According to CNN, the computational problem occurred with the so-called 'NOTAM' system.

Notam is a system that provides information that pilots must grasp before taking off.

The total number of flights affected by computational issues is unknown.

The Federal Aviation Administration said, "Technical personnel are recovering the system," and "it is difficult to predict the timing of recovery at this time."

United Airlines in the United States said it was delaying the departure of all domestic flights, and American Airlines also told CNN that all flights were affected.

American Airlines added in a statement: "We are monitoring the situation closely. All aircraft are affected. We are cooperating with the Federal Aviation Administration to minimize operational disruptions and customer damage."

According to Reuters, France's Paris International Airport also announced that flights may be delayed due to the same problem.
