The Israeli occupation forces arrested 20 Palestinians in various parts of the West Bank last night and at dawn today, while the Islamic Endowment Department in Jerusalem reported that dozens of settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque this morning from the Mughrabi Gate, under strict protection from the Israeli police.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club said that 7 Palestinians were arrested in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, and 5 in the occupied city of Jerusalem, and others from the areas of Jenin, Ramallah, Hebron and Nablus.

Eyewitnesses said that the occupation forces transferred the detainees to camps for interrogation on charges of resistance.

The Islamic Endowments Department stated that "the settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, carried out provocative tours in its courtyards, and performed Talmudic rituals in the eastern side of it."

And according to the Palestinian Press Agency, "the occupation police deployed their special forces and units since morning in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa and at its gates, to secure the settlers' incursions," pointing out that "the occupation police continued to restrict the entry of Palestinian worshipers to Al-Aqsa, and checked their personal identities, and detained some of them at its external gates." .

She pointed out that "Jerusalemites continue to call for the need for mobilization and daily prayer in Al-Aqsa Mosque, to thwart all plans of the occupation and the Temple groups."

On the other hand, human rights organizations and families of prisoners organized a sit-in in front of the headquarters of the International Red Cross delegation in Al-Bireh, Ramallah, to denounce the occupation's violations against prisoners in prisons, the latest of which was the transfer of more than 70 prisoners from Hadarim Prison, north of Tel Aviv, to Nafha Desert Prison.

Human rights organizations called on the Red Cross mission to contribute to stopping these measures, which the far-right government has begun trying to implement.

The prisoners had threatened an indefinite strike if these measures were implemented.
