Pushilin: residents of the liberated cities of the DPR will decide on their own to return their names

This was stated by the Acting Head of the Republic Denis Pushilin.

“In March 2022, a decree was issued according to which the names that existed as of May 11, 2014 are returned to the settlements ... If the inhabitants want to rename them, we will definitely provide such an opportunity,” he said in Telegram.

Thus, Pushilin commented on the idea to return the name Artemovsk to the city of Bakhmut.

At the same time, he stressed that such decisions would be made after the formation of local governments on the territory of the liberated settlements.

Earlier, the commander of the Akhmat special forces, the deputy commander of the 2nd Army Corps of the People's Militia of the LPR, Apty Alaudinov, said on Channel One that, in his opinion, Soledar and Bakhmut (Artyomovsk) would be released in the coming days.

The commander of the Troy volunteer special forces unit, Vladimir Novikov, with the call sign Alabai, said that Russian forces are fighting hard for every house in Soledar (DNR), Ukrainian troops are currently suffering heavy losses.
