This is one of the three challenges of the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire for 2023, with the fight against inflation and the state of public finances: "greening industry".

He even wants to make it a bill.

But how does Bercy intend to go about it?

What will the future bill contain?

In 2023, the government wants to make green industry the engine of reindustrialisation.

The Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, and the Minister of Industry, Roland Lescure, were on the move last week in the Ardennes, on the site of the Hanon Systems factory, the embodiment of this project.

The plant, which previously produced heat engine parts, now produces electric motor parts.

Go faster

Other green industry projects exist.

Like the future paracetamol factory of the manufacturer Seqens, in Isère, which will be 5 to 10 times less polluting.

But it should not see the light of day before 2024. Precisely, Bruno Le Maire wants to speed up the authorization process for new industrial sites.

"There is no reason that in France we should take two years to develop an industrialist, sometimes three, where other nations manage to do it in a few months", he detailed during his speech. greetings to economic players on January 5th.

The Minister of the Economy also wants to promote French and European production in public procurement.

More funding

In addition, another point is put forward: to set up more financing for the green industry.

For Lucille Chabanel, lawyer specializing in financing innovation at Deloitte Société d'Avocats, this will make it possible to compete with American projects, which benefit from very large subsidies.

"In the United States we can have between 70% and 80% of the investments for the construction of the factory. In France, we are often capped at 10% on projects of large groups", she specifies.

A green industry bill is due in the spring.
