Today, Tuesday, two depositors in Lebanon stormed two banks by force of arms in the south of the country.

This afternoon, one of the depositors, carrying a military pistol, stormed the Lebanese-French Bank in Nabatiyeh, southern Lebanon, to demand 50 thousand dollars as part of his deposit, in order to treat his two sons who suffer from diabetes.

A quarrel occurred in the city of Sidon, also in the south of the country, between a depositor who tried to enter the Bank of Lebanon and Overseas, and the bank guards who prevented him.

The depositor made an attempt to storm the bank by force of arms, firing at the main entrance door, and a force from the Lebanese army intelligence came, put a cordon around the place, and proceeded to arrest the depositor, and investigations were launched into the incident.

Lebanon has been suffering from a financial and economic crisis since 2019, which has led to banks refusing to hand over deposits to depositors, and a number of depositors have continued to storm banks to obtain their deposits since last September.
