President Yoon Seok-yeol will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Switzerland from the 14th to the 21st.
National Security Office Director Kim Seong-han unveiled the schedule of President Yoon's 8-day, 6-night trip to the UAE and Switzerland through a briefing at the Yongsan Presidential Office on the afternoon of the 10th.
President Yoon will pay a state visit to the UAE from the 14th to the 17th at the invitation of President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
This is the first state visit by a Korean leader to the UAE since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1980.
President Yoon holds a summit meeting with President Muhammad, a state luncheon, a visit to the Barakah nuclear power plant, and schedules related to the economy and energy.
A visit to the UAE is accompanied by an economic delegation consisting of over 100 companies, including heads of major domestic groups.
It is expected that a number of memorandums of understanding (MoU) will be signed between the two countries.
President Yoon will then move to Switzerland to attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), also called the 'Davos Forum'.
It is the first time in eight years that a president has attended the Davos Forum since former President Park Geun-hye in 2014.
In a special speech at the Davos Forum on the 19th, President Yoon will introduce ideas for international cooperation to overcome the global economic crisis.
