Denis Reshetnikov, head of the Fresh Auto dealership, notes that as of January 9, the RRP for cars supplied to Russia has not changed.
According to him, at the beginning of the year, importers increase the cost of their cars by the amount of inflation - by about 3-4%, but at the end of 2022, a number of brands have already reported a price increase of 7%.
Avilon Retail Sales Director Renat Tyukteev also notes that RRPs in the new year are static relative to December 2022, even though the yuan exchange rate against the ruble has been growing for two months in a row.
Earlier, the Izvestia newspaper, citing the Avtostat analytical agency, reported that in December 2022, 56,745 new cars were sold in Russia, which is 10% more than a year earlier.
