According to the Financial Times, the US and Japanese armies are rapidly integrating their command structure and stepping up joint operations in preparation for "a possible conflict with China, such as a war over Taiwan."

According to the commander of the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force, Lieutenant General James Bierman, the United States and its allies in Asia act "on the same principles as in the case of Ukraine."

“In 2014 and 2015, we were seriously engaged in preparing for a future conflict,” Birman said, noting, among other things, the training of Ukrainian military personnel.

Earlier, the United States and Japan signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.

It was also reported that the heads of the US and Japanese Defense Departments will meet in Washington on January 11.
