90% of the emergency workforce at the Pontoise hospital, in the Paris region, filed for sick leave on Monday morning.

They denounce their working conditions, which are deteriorating more and more, and demand additional staff as well as the immediate triggering of the "white plan".

Faced with Covid-19, the flu and bronchiolitis... This new action which says a lot about the discomfort of caregivers.

90% of the emergency workforce at the Pontoise hospital, in the Paris region, filed for sick leave on Monday.

Similar actions have taken place in recent days, particularly in the east of the country, but this is the first time that the Île-de-France region has been affected.

48 hour wait in emergency

The message from the mobilized caregivers is clear: they are exhausted, they can't take it anymore.

In recent days, there has been a shortage of beds to accommodate all the patients, who sometimes have to wait up to 48 hours in the emergency room before being examined.

"Unheard of", according to union representatives.

The situation, so untenable, forced 90% of the hospital's adult emergency caregivers to go off work on Monday.

As a result, emergencies are running even slower.

This Monday, many patients come in and out of the emergency department destitute.

The "white plan" claimed

These caregivers consider that it is no longer possible to continue under these conditions and are calling for additional staff day and night, as well as the immediate initiation of the "white plan" to free up beds.

A request already made three weeks ago but refused by management, according to the unions.

A meeting was organized between the two parties but no way out of the crisis has been found for the moment.
