At the time of North Korean drone infiltration last month, it was found that the situation was belatedly reported to the Defense Minister as well as to the Capital Defense Command, which defends Seoul.

According to the Ministry of National Defense and the National Assembly, it was around 11:50 a.m. on the 26th of last month that the Joint Chiefs of Staff reported the North Korean drone's infiltration into the airspace to Defense Minister Lee Jong-seop.

It was reported to the Minister of Defense for the first time 1 hour and 30 minutes after the first detection of the North Korean drone at 10:19 am on the same day.

Unbeknownst to the minister, the North Korean drone stirred up Seoul around 10:50 am, passing through the no-fly zone for the defense of the Yongsan presidential office.

The minister's report was not made until the KA-1 light attack aircraft, which had been scrambled to track the drone, crashed at 11:29 am.

It is known that the situation was communicated to the Minister of Defense before and after the issuance of the entire army of 'Crane', which is prepared for enemy aircraft.

A high-ranking government official told SBS, "The Joint Chiefs of Staff is at the center of the overall poor response, such as the omission of radio waves, the late issuance of cranes, and the delay in reporting to the minister."

The War Preparedness Inspection Office, which has been conducting a fact-finding investigation for two weeks, is also looking at the decision-making and overall communication of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, but concerns are emerging that it will be able to properly investigate high-ranking positions such as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff because the War Preparedness Inspection Office belongs to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
